I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, (LPCC). I graduated from Ohio State University in 1976 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Twenty years later, in 1996, I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University.
I have 30+ years of experience in the counseling field. I have worked in a variety of settings to include community mental health agencies, a private psychiatric office, a school setting, and an outpatient alcohol/drug treatment facility. My education, training, and work experience, as well as my 68 years of life experience inform my work with clients. I felt “called” to this work after I experienced the support and guidance of a gifted therapist as I confronted my own life challenges. It was such a positive experience that it motivated me to pursue a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling so that I could support others through their own process of personal growth and healing. Remember this: “Great counselors never stop learning, they remain curious, and are proud to acknowledge that they themselves have experienced being a client in therapy!” |
